Avoiding Common Mistakes – Not Following A Schedule
This is probably the single most common mistake there is when it comes to house training puppies. What do I mean by schedule? A schedule consists of the times of day a puppy eats, sleeps and uses the toilet. The schedule is important for two reasons: first, it helps you to see and develop a pattern of potty times through out the day. This of course helps you to be on alert when it is that time of day that your pup will most likely need to use the toilet. The other important reason to develop a schedule is that this helps your puppy develop a toilet routine. For example first thing in the morning, every morning, you and your pup head to the potty spot where you wait for him to do his business. After that is playtime. Just like humans, dogs like routine and consistency.
